“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.”
-Conrad Hilton
Monday can seem like Ground Hog day around here and it may seem the same for you.
“I REALLY fell of the wagon this weekend!”
“I didn’t workout even once om my two-week vacation!”
“I missed every workout last week!”
“I feel awful. I must have drank half the bar, I’m still trying to recover!”
The fact is we don’t do guilt too much (if ever) around here.
When you see people on a daily basis that have turned their habits, and lost 30-50 even 100lbs or more. And make TONS of mistakes along the way.
You realize pretty quick.
YOUR past mistakes have absolutely no bearing or control over your future.
People in the beginning will say “But, what if it doesn’t work out?”
And it’s my job to remind them of the more important and powerful question of “But, what if it does all work out?”
And the fastest way to move forward is to become good at putting your screw ups, failures, disasters, and mistakes behind you.
The quicker the better.
Learn from your mistakes-yes.
But no dwelling on the Double Cheese Quarter Pounder-Large Fries and LArge Chocolate Shake, chased with a Diet Coke you had yesterday.
Who cares? No one.
The problem with these little guilt trips is they can completely derail you if you let them.
Avoid the slippery slope by practicing quick recovery.
Practicing resiliency is like any other habit. Use it or lose it. And you need it.
Yes.
You’re going to miss workouts.
You’re going to eat things you probably shouldn’t.
You’re going to want to throw in the towel.
Every successful client I’ve ever had did all 3 of these things. And more!
And they STILL hit their goals.
Because every time they got knocked down.
They got back up.
And they just kept moving forward.
And so should you.
Never give up.
Dave
