I’ve noticed over the years a trend from interviewing thousands of potential clients.
Those with 20-50 pounds to lose would consistently say (before beginning our program) they DID NOT eat breakfast.
And those with 50lbs or more to lose either DID NOT eat breakfast OR started their day with a fast-food breakfast.
There’s something about starting your day off on empty that’s just bad for your health and waistline.
Weight Loss research over the years has backed up the importance of starting your day with a healthy meal.
Advantages of eating in the a.m.
Various studies have found different benefits of starting your day with breakfast, including:
-Having a lower BMI
-Having lower Body Fat Levels
-More likely to maintain lower body weight over time
-Consuming fewer calories through the day
-Eating more for fruits and vegetables
-Better mental performance (memory and attention)
-Better bone health
And just as dramatic are the disadvantage you do to yourself when missing a morning meal.
Various studies have found a range of disadvantages of skipping breakfast:
-More likely to be overweight
-Less likely to meet recommendations for fruit and vegetable consumption
-More likely to consume unhealthy snacks
-More likely to regain lost weight
-More likely to take in more calories overall
