Seth Godin is one person I pay attention to. He says the most with the least amount of words. And he never wastes my time.
Here’s his blog from today…
When will you get to Ramsgate
“Before Van Gogh was Van Gogh, he painted some pictures of streets in Ramsgate, a village in the UK.
What if he had stopped, saying, “This isn’t good enough, it’s a failure, I’m never going to amount to anything?”
Nobody, ever once, pops to the top. You walk there. Step by step, each a failure until it’s not.
If you’re not yet at Ramsgate, you’ve got some walking to do. And then, when you get to Ramsgate, more walking.”
For those of you who are struggling.
If you’re not quite where you want to be with your weight loss and fitness.
This is a reminder that no one shows up successful.
You and I, we’re all going to struggle at some time.
It’s all part of the game.
The greatest of the greatest all struggled on the way to their success.
The key as Seth points out is they refused to give into self doubt. Even when the preponderance of evidence was against them at that moment.
“Nobody, ever once, pops to the top”
It just appears that way. The best really do make it look easy. But that’s just the appearance.
“You walk there. Step by step, each a failure until it’s not.”
You will have bad food days.
You will have days where everything feels heavy.
You will have people that will openly doubt your ability.
You will struggle.
But you don’t stop.
One healthy meal then the next.
One training session then another.
One step then another.
That’s the secret to every success.
Never give up.
I believe in you.
I believe you can do it.
