“Action alleviates anxiety”
What Can You Do Today to Improve 2017
Over the next 2 weeks I will start handful of clients that are what I call “early adopters”
For whatever reasons they have from their past they’ve decided 2017 is going to be their BEST YEAR EVER.
And they know the ONLY way to make that happen is to take action.
Even with a busy, eating, drinking, traveling, family in town, parties morning noon and night, kids home from school 2 weeks.
They’ve decided to “Do the best they can with what they got”.
But, most important to do it now.
In 2 weeks they’ll already be stronger, have more stamina, have started eating better where it’s not so strange, their body-fat will be lower, they’re stronger, and the scale will already be moving in the right direction.
When January 2nd arrives, they’ll already be rolling.
Here are 3 things you can do today and over the next 2 weeks to make that transition into January that much easier.
And I want to point out to you, this is as much mental training as it is physical.
By making some small doable changes to your habits now, and sticking with them, you’ll increase your confidence to go hard by these small victories in the beginning (while there’s no pressure)
1) Exercise 3 times this week…
Doesn’t matter what you choose, just get there and get it in.
Zumba, Crossfit, weight lifting, fitness bootcamp, power walking the neighborhood, Spin, yoga doesn’t really matter.
Sure there are preferred and methods for transforming (Dropping body-fat, toning up, getting stronger) but that’s not the point.
The habit you’re building isn’t the exercise habit, it’s the showing up habit you’re developing.
The showing up habit is the one you want to develop and you do this with consistency.
2) Tighten up your diet…
Tighten up means cleaning up.
If you’re drinking 2 soft drinks a day drop it to 1.
If you’re not eating breakfast make it a point to get something in in the morning.
If you’re all over the place eating wise, commit to 3 meals a day.
Reduce processed foods in a bag or a box and replace them with fruits and vegetables..
One or two diet changes can yield huge results down the road.
And I’ve noticed my clients that started dialing down their diets for a few weeks before they meet me, do better than those making a LOT of changes at once.
That’s not saying it can’t be done, I’m only saying dialing it in gradually seems to help when you change your eating.
Clarity helps get you to your goals faster than wandering aimlessly.
Just like you’d never drive from Fort Worth to New York city without typing your destination into a GPS.
You need to type your goals into your mind by writing them down.
Use positive language, focusing on what you WANT to see.
Examples
I sam 160 now. I will drop 10 pounds by February 1st. My weight will be 150 on February 1st.
I want a flatter stomach, smalled toned and defined arms, smaller tighter hips buns and legs.
I want to be able to run 1 mile without stopping
There are no right or wrong goals but the goals will help you make better decisions and your decisions will get you to your goal faster.
I’m not a psychologist but if you constantly catch yourself speaking negatively to yourself.
I’m fat, I suck, I can’t do this etc..
You need to fix that.
You’re going to need to take steps to change this, and this could yield more positive results than you can imagine.
I’m not recommending this coach but this website is a good starting point to cleaning up your own self talk and improving your mindset.
