There’s a saying in fitness that every Monday is New Years Day.
A chance for a new start, fresh beginnings, and another shot at getting it right.
We also tend to spin things positively, because well negative people suck.
But I do want to share something with you this morning.
“Most individuals have HORRIBLE judgement and should never be let anywhere near your life.”
Robert Greene (48 Laws of Power)
And THIS is important to remember especially when changing your habits, losing fat, getting into shape are your goals.
I meet people daily that would…
Never take financial advice from their uncle who is always broke ass broke.
Never take parenting advice from a teen mom with a meth addiction.
Nave take driving lessons from a guy with 8 DWI’s
BUT, they’ll actually consider and weigh the exercise and nutrition advice from…
Their spouse who’s 30 pounds overweight, and tells them “You don’t need a coach”
Their co-worker who’s double fisting donuts all day telling them “That diet will NEVER work it’s way too restrictive”
Or their girlfriend who’s 5’0″, petite, always been skinny, eats one meal a day who recommends “Just do the elliptical like I do, it’s always worked for me. Lifting makes you bulky and manly”
MOST people are idiots and that’s a fact.
And there are even MORE idiots ready and willing to give you annoying at best and catastrophic to your health at worst, advice all day long.
You MUST BE very careful who you allow to be near you and to advise you.
The WHO you’re around will have the Biggest impact on your behaviors and outcomes.
That’s my Monday safety brief.
Get out there and show up and train consistently.
Don’t eat shit.
And surround yourself with positive, like minded people who share your goals.
Ignore the idiots.
Talk soon.
Dave
