Fort Worth Personal Training: 3 WORST “Healthy” Foods You Can Eat

The more I talk to my clients the more bad information I realize is out there.
Not only that, but I realized even my clients, who I see regularly can be influenced by food marketing, and can unwittingly make choices that aren’t the best for their goals.
One of my hardest working boot campers and I were having a discussion the other day about JUNK foods that are so called “healthy” foods.
This is one of her biggest challenges.
She eats a lot of foods that are marketed as healthy, but in reality they’re actually not..and she didn’t even know it.
Here’s 3 of the big ones I got her to cut out of her diet after talking with her…
These 3 WORST offenders are marketed
> Low Fat Salad Dressings (instead use homemade dressing)
> Whole Grain Bread (try a lettuce wrap)
> Margarine (try olive oil or coconut oil)
Here’s the deal when it comes to these foods…
They’re pretty much nothing but fake chemicals. A chemical soup you’re putting in your body.
No matter what the calorie counts are on these “foods”, or how much fat they have, you’re not eating something that’s real food.
Heck, your average piece of whole grain bread has over 20 ingredients in it!
If it’s loaded with a bunch of ingredients that you can’t pronounce, it’s probably not good for you!
A great rule of thumb is “avoid food products that have 5 or more ingredients”.
This simple rule answers the “is it good for me?” question pretty fast.
More than 5 ingredients? Probably not good for you.
Your body just isn’t meant to process that kind of junk.
What it’s meant to eat is real, natural foods.
Here’s what you should take away from this…
Try to cut some of the over-processed, chemically enhanced foods out of your diet.
Focus more on real foods like veggies, meat, fruits and nuts.
