Nothing drives me more crazy than people that say, “I go to the gym almost every day and workout, but I’m not seeing results.” Just because you walk in the front door, doesn’t mean you are going to get results. It’s not entering the building that counts as a workout, it’s how you use your time.
At any given time, you can enter a gym and find about 75% of the people(I’d say 99.9% of Big Box Health Club members-DAVE) lying around on the mats, wandering around, or wasting time chatting to a friend or watching TV while they be-bop along on the elliptical for an hour.
If you don’t work hard, you aren’t going to get results, plain and simple. I don’t care how often you go- you are wasting your time.
Why don’t people push themselves to their full potential? Because it’s uncomfortable. So is being unhealthy and overweight.
You can have the most effective program in the world, but if you are not willing to push yourself and work hard, you will get nothing out of it. There are no short cuts. If you can’t do it yourself, get a trainer, but just be honest with yourself. Find what you need to do to get yourself out of you comfort zone, and PUSH.
